Experiences
The Somali Minority Women Organization (SoMWO) is a minority women-led organization founded by passionate and determined women from Somalia’s marginalized communities. Established to advocate for the rights and well-being of these women, SoMWO addresses issues such as gender inequality, limited access to ed- ucation, healthcare, and economic opportunities. SoMWO stands at the forefront of transformative efforts that empower women and girls, driving sustainable solutions for a more equitable society. Our Services Include:

Through our work in child protection, resilience and risk reduction, we places the safety and well-being of children at the centre of our programming.
We offer a range of sexual and reproductive health services to ensure that women and girls have access to the information and care they need.
In addition to reproductive health, we provide general health services to improve the overall health of women and girls in our communities.
The severe limitation of services, worsened by access constraints for women and girls due to extreme stigmatization and fear of reprisals, deprives GBV survivors of necessary multi-sectoral care and support.
SOMWO is actively advocating for climate action by raising awareness about the urgent need to address climate change and its impact on vulnerable communities.
